Lacoste’s “The Big Leap” featuring Disclosure, Eliza Doolittle, and Flume

I love the intersection of fashion and music, especially when it comes to promo videos for labels. They get cinematic.

For example, “Feel” by Dead Times was used to soundtrack the Vogue Paris video for Stella McCartney’s Autumn-Winter 2013-2014 line.

“Next to You” by Bumblebeez was featured in a Lacoste polo ad.

Now, Lacoste released “The Big Leap,” a beautiful 60-second ad featuring Flume’s remix of “YOU & ME” by DISCLOSURE ft Eliza Doolittle.

P.S. Thanks to Jones01 on Reddit for posting about the ad.

“Warm Water” by BANKS (Snakehips Remix)

Snakehips’s remix of “Warm Water” by BANKS speeds up the original track’s vocals then translates the PBR&B sound to a nu-disco combo of staccato keyboard chords, bassline, and flashes of cosmic synths – going from Sade to Moon Boots in 4 minutes and 13 seconds.

“Bravado” by Lorde + FFFRRANNNO Remix

Lorde is the latest breakout artist who actually spent very little time in the indie blog ether before making it not big but huge. (It’s important to consider the fact that she was signed on Universal Records 3 years ago when she was only 13, so she was basically destined for the fame she’s garnering now.)

Reminds me of how Chloe Chaidez from KITTEN began singing on stage with Band of Horses early on in her career (when she was 11).

Anyway, Lorde is proving herself as New Zealand’s own Marina and the Diamonds but with a lighter sound (both in vocals and in beats – more closed hi-hats, less bass).

Check out her track “Bravado”:

Chela – BoxSpeaker’s Latest Electro Crush

All aboard the SS BoxSpeaker – headed straight to Melbourne with sights set on the latest BoxSpeaker crush Chela.

Featured as vocals in Goldroom’s track “Fifteen” last year.

Followed by a gigs as vocals on Viceroy’s “Dream of Bombay.”

Then having her single “Full Moon” remixed by Sterling Silver.

Just last week, the Gold Fields remix of her song “Romanticise” was featured by Kitsune Maison – one of the best French record label/tastemaker combos.

Chela is really making a name for herself, especially as the self-proclaimed “new oriental disco heathen goddess on the block.”
